| "Do not mourn the death of your beloved, do not call
back the traveller who is on his way to his destiny, because you do not
know what he seeks. You are of the earth, but he is now of heaven. By crying
over the deceased, you sadden the soul of him who cannot return to earth.
By longing to be reunited with him, you can only handicap him. He is happy
in the place where he has arrived. Your desire to join him does not help
him. The purpose of your life still keeps you on earth. No creature that
has ever been born has really belonged to another, every soul is the beloved
of God. Does God not love as no man can?
Death therefore does nothing but to reunite man with God. Because
to Whom the soul truly belongs, to Him we return sooner or later. Truly,
behind the veil of death a life is hidden that surpasses the comprehension
of all on earth.
If you would know the freedom of that world and knew how sad hearts
are delivered from their burden, if you knew how the diseased are cured
there and how their wounds are healed, if you could understand the freedom
that the soul experiences as it removes itself of this earthly life of
restrictions, then you would no longer mourn those who have passed on,
but pray for the happiness and peace of these souls on their further journey."
